Microsoft disposable DVD

In regards to my previous post, the following has come to my attention. Sorry to get you excited about it if you thought it was interesting:

Microsoft's Disposable DVDs a hoax

From the article:

… When we originally spotted the story, we asked ourselves: has the market changed since the previous spectacular failures of limited-viewing DVDs? We were suspicious, so we didn't report, but instead, started checking facts.

As it turns out, it was a complete hoax. Microsoft knows nothing about it.

What's funny about the news, though, is how it propagated around the net. Ed Bott has the details.
Well it looks like I got caught up in the hoax too. I guess I thought it was believable considering there are/were DVD’s by the name of Flexplay that have a similar concept.
