So last night I headed out to celebrate my friend Clare's 20th Birthday. What a night that was. It all started off with some drinks at her place followed by a taxi into West End for some more drinks at Sling Lounge (http://www.slinglounge.com). If I was to say that this place was excellent, that would be a bit of an understatement. This is one bar in the Brisbane area that you can not afford to miss. The extensive range of cocktails and the friendly and knowledgeable staff really makes the experience that extra bit more enjoyable. You have to go there.
Just as for an idea, some of the cocktails available (ie. the ones we ordered) out of their 250 or so are: Apparition, Victoria's Secret, Polish Prince, Bang Lassi, Loyal Grape, 10,000-Mile Journey, Fog Cutter, Braveheart, BBQ Margarita, Yin & Yan, Zombie, Poppy Seed, The Cane Toad, Potato Salad, Ergo, and Long Island Iced Tea. Judging from everyone's responses, all were very delicious.
Anyways, after quite a bit of drinking and socialising, we headed into the city for one of our favourite nightspots; The Port Office Hotel. At about this point, the next four hours or so were taken up by dancing and more drinking at the Porto, followed by Jade Buddha's Shadow Lounge, then The Met. Determined to party until sunrise, we kept dancing till some time after 3am then we headed over to the Pancake Parlour to have a snack. By the time we were done there, the sun was starting to come up and we were pretty tired. We caught a taxi back to Clare's and that was it for the night.
From all that above, it doesn't look like too much happened, but that's about as much as I can piece back together. It was one fun night, and considering that it has been quite a while since I had been out with Clare and everyone else, it was extremely enjoyable.
